Research in Social Communication of Science is core topic to connect the scientific knowledge with society in a clear and accessible way.
This research provides insight into how scientific advances are communicated, how they are interpreted by different audiences, and what strategies are most effective in making science part of the public discussion . In addition, financial aid addresses challenges such as misinformation, public perception of complex issues (such as climate change or artificial intelligence) and encourages citizen participation in science. At final, it contributes to a society that is more informed, critical and capable of making decisions based on scientific evidence.

The UCC+i promotes the research in science communication through the group Comunicación de la ciencia, a group of research multidisciplinary focused on analyzing how science is communicated to society in general. This team is composed of researchers from different areas and collaborate with researchers from other universities in Spain and abroad.
