Mª Gabriela Torres, a 5th year medical student at the University of Navarra, has received one of the first Seneca Awards granted by the Government of Navarra.

These awards, valued at 800 euros, recognize the best records of students from Navarra who participate in the mobility program university among Spanish centers.

Thanks to the scholarship Séneca, Mª Gabriela Torres is completing her programs of study at the Complutense University of Madrid. "Studying Medicine at the Gregorio Marañón is allowing me to get to know another hospital and another subject of medicine: public healthcare in a big way," she explains.

The ceremony of submission of the awards took place in the Throne Room of the Palace of Navarra and was presided over by the Regional Minister of Education , Alberto Catalán. The event was also attended by the director general of training Professional and Universities, Pedro González.

In addition to the three special honorable mentions for the best records, a total of 25 students have obtained from the Government of Navarra a financial aid that complements the one granted by the Ministry of Education in the 2009 call for applications.
