The Incubator of the University of Navarra launches a call to promote the application of innovative health solutions

The call seeks startups in pre-commercial phase to apply their solutions in 9 medical specialties, the deadline for submitting projects is June 30.

The Incubator of the University of Navarra, in partnership with the Clínica Universidad de Navarra and the IESE Business School's Business Angels network , has launched a new call to the innovation ecosystem with the purpose to advance the implementation of innovative proposals in health. This call ultimately seeks to improve the health of patients and people's lives.

Through this call, the University of Navarra will identify innovative solutions that can be applied to the health sector with the purpose to accompany them in their development. Priority will be given to those applicable to the main medical specialties of interest to the Clinic: Endocrinology and Nutrition, Gynecology and Obstetrics, (Internal Medicine, Otolaryngology, Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery, Radiation Oncology, Urology and Allergology and Immunology. In addition, areas such as Surgery, Pneumology, Ophthalmology and Oncology, among other medical specialties, will also be able to apply for the call.

The call is aimed at pre-commercial startups or any other entity that commits to establish a startup within three months if selected. Those interested in participating can submit their proposals through the website (www.unav.edu/incubadora/call-2024), with a deadline of June 30, 2024.

The selected candidates will have access to mentoring and support from clinical experts and the University of Navarra Incubator, to the network of experts from the University of Navarra, to its know-how and capabilities of research and development, as well as to its network of investors.

 

University of Navarra Incubator

Medical devices to automate allergy diagnostic tests, systems based on cold atmospheric plasma for the treatment of torpid ulcers, the development of new medical applications through biomaterials and nanoencapsulation technology of bioactive principles with natural proteins, are some of the real examples that have been developed at the University of Navarra Incubator.

In this sense, the Incubator has as goal to transfer the knowledge and apply the research and development capabilities of the University to the market through the creation and participation in startups to which it can add value by identifying, capturing and promoting its development within the biosanitary sector.

The Incubator has the participation of medical professionals from Clínica Universidad de Navarra, researchers from CIMA and from all the centers and Departments that make up the university community. In addition, it also has a group of professionals with experience in incubation, development of business and access to financing, such as Innovation Factory, the Research Management Service and institutions and experts in the sector.
