Amancio Prada (Dehesas, León, 1949) returns to the Museo Universidad de Navarra on February 14, at 7:30 pm, to offer a concert with a free and eclectic spirit. With this vocation, in Libremente he will perform a journey through the traditional romancero, Lope de Vega, Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer, Rosalía de Castro, Federico García Lorca, Juan Carlos Mestre, Antonio Pereira, Agustín García Calvo and his own songs. Tickets are 20 and 18 euros.

As the artist explains, in the first part of the recital he will perform solo and in the second part he will share the stage again with the University of Navarra Choir, with whom he already performed the Spiritual Song of St. John of the Cross in the fall of 2018. "It left us all with a very good taste in our mouths and ears and I hope that on this occasion something similar or better will happen. I want to let myself be carried away by the moment, the stage, the light, the audience, that things sprout," he notes. It will be a close and warm meeting , on a stage where Prada is very comfortable: "I love the stage space. It is very intimate and you feel the presence and breath of the audience, and I hope you also feel mine".

CONNECTION WITH THE CHOIR

About his experience with the University of Navarra Choir, directed by Ekhi Ocaña, the musician recognizes that the connection was instantaneous: "They are young voices that are not maligned by the impostured way of singing. I told them that I wanted them to sing as if they were at a friends' meeting , each one with his good voice. They caught everything at the first time and the tuning was immediate". In addition, he assures that this concert was "one of the times that I have most enjoyed the accompaniment board member of the singing, for its freshness and candor".

The members of the group are also rehearsing these days, excited about the opportunity to get back on stage with Prada. "It was a sublime experience. Amancio lifted us up with a very soft voice, that speaks and sings at the same time, that soothes like a rumor and also guide like a harangue. With his strength, he taught us and made us shine by his side. We were all Amancio", explains Teresa Reina from San Sebastian, a doctoral student at School of the Philosophy and Letters and a student of the first promotion of the Master in Curatorial Studies. For this reason, the 24-year-old considers that living it again will be "a privilege" because "Amancio has that strength that sweeps from the backstage to the last row".

For other members of the choir, Libremente will be the first recital with the artist. This is the case of Puerto Rican Brian Quiñones, a 22-year-old student of Master's Degree in research Biomedical at School of Sciences. "I have noticed the excitement of the veterans, for whom it was an experience B for the art and human quality of Amancio. Personally, I am very excited about the concert and we seek to add to the color and liveliness of his interpretations. Our work is to enter into his voice to highlight the poetry beyond the music. The choir's director has made some musical adaptations with Amancio to achieve this vision".
