The Orquesta Sinfónica Universidad de Navarra calls auditions to add new musicians to the group. The auditions will take place at the Museo Universidad de Navarra on June 17, starting at 3 pm. They are open to all young people who wish to audition and who are currently studying or have finished their musical studies programs of study . Registrations can be made until June 16 through the Museum's website or by writing to alumnosmuseo@unav.es.

This year, the Orquesta Sinfónica Universidad de Navarra, conducted by Borja Quintas, has offered three concerts. The lyrical gala held in January was the first outing outside the campus of the University of Navarra, as it offered one of the recitals at the Teatro del Museo and the other at the Teatro Victoria Eugenia in San Sebastián. In both they shared the stage with mezzo-soprano María José Montiel and tenor Eduardo Sandoval and cellist Ángel Luis Quintana, from the Orquesta Nacional de España.

This program included a journey through some of the most illustrious arias and duets of the operatic repertoire, with pieces by Mascagni, Puccini, Donizetti, Werther, Saint-Saëns and Bizet. Funds were raised for the Columbus Foundation which, through music, strives to help needy children and adults suffering from cancer and rare diseases.

The April concert was a challenge because it included in its program two masterpieces of the Spanish and Russian repertoire: Amor brujo by Manuel de Falla and the Suite for Variety Orchestra by Dmitri Shostakovich. With this repertoire, the Orchestra made room for less common instruments in symphonic ensembles, such as a saxophone quartet, accordion, guitar and piano four hands. Thus, it continued its work of expanding the experience of music within the University through its young performers.

The Orquesta Sinfónica Universidad de Navarra was created as a new project with the purpose of offering the students of the University the possibility of training and belonging to a quality symphonic ensemble. Inspired by the orchestras of the most prestigious universities in the United States and Central Europe, goal aims to revalue the role of the arts and music in the university environment and to become a young orchestra of reference letter. On the horizon, it also wants to promote links and exchanges with other national and international university institutions through music.

His director, Borja Quintas, is Full Professor of Orchestra Conducting at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Aragón and at the Centro Superior Katarina Gurska, and director of the Russkaya Opera Theater in Moscow. He has been invited to conduct some of the most important orchestras in the world, such as the London Symphony Orchestra or the New Russia Symphony Orchestra, among others.
