The University of Navarra has launched its first iPad application, which is available in Spanish, English and Chinese. It has been promoted by César Martín Gómez, professor of the School of Architecture of the University of Navarra, with the partnership of the high school Scientific and Technological (ICT) and the area Website of the campus.

The tool allows to easily perform advanced calculations on fire safety measures in construction: sizing of stairs and evacuation routes in a residential building.

'Family' of applications of Building andurbanism
The new application, which is already available on Apple Store, can be useful for the teaching that is carried out within the School of Architecture and to disseminate its lines of research. It is also designed to help professionals (architects, construction engineers, etc.), in the development of their work.

"This is the first of what is expected to become a 'family' of applications of Building and urbanism adapted to PC Tablets, increasingly recurrent platforms, and in this case, iPad and iPhone devices," explains Professor César Martín Gómez. Specifically, at the moment, three more are already being developed: one related to air conditioning with Peltier cells, based on a project of research; and two others of character professor: an energy meter and an application with questions and answers related to the design of facilities in the Building.
