The doctoral students from School of Architecture of the University of Navarra Natalia Mambrilla and María Eguaras, together with the 5th year student Sofía Barberena, visited the subway urban facilities of Pamplona to learn about their operation and distribution.

They were accompanied by officers from the National Police Underground Unit, who showed them the underground infrastructures for entrance and water evacuation, pneumatic garbage collection and electricity.

"Of the new galleries, I was surprised by the clear and orderly layout of the installations, as each one is placed in a tray with the necessary space. Of the old ones, I was struck by the fact that they are monitored by security cameras and also by the change in section dimensions from one section to another, since in some cases the heights varied considerably," explained Sofía Barberena.

The activity was organized by the subject of Environmental Engineering, Facilities and Energy Section. It is part of a set of actions related to safety (safety and security) that have been developed in the 2011-2012 academic year, in which the Navarra Emergency Agency, the Navarre Civil Guard Command in Navarra and the Pamplona Municipal Police have collaborated.
