The School de Medicina hosted a simulation of health care in the event of a train derailment, as part of the conference Interactive Surgery Exercise for Students (JOICE)a three-day congress in which 350 medical students from 18 Spanish universities participated.

As soon as they received notice of the tragedy, the students organized themselves into different groups in order to provide an immediateattendance to the passengers, characterized with injuries of varying severity. partnership During the simulation, the students were assisted by the doctors of the Military Unit of Zaragoza, and staff of DYA, Red Cross and Firefighters of Navarra, as well as members of the Municipal Police, Regional Police, National Police and Civil Guard. The internship recreated different scenarios tutored by the security forces in order to provide students with the most complete and real vision of how to proceed in these situations. In addition, specialists from the scientific police and forensic medicine will instruct them on the procedures to follow in case of fatalities.
