The GRISO co-organizes with other institutions the International congress "Cervantes and Don Quixote from Alcázar (literature, history, society)".

It was held on November 4 and 5 in Alcázar de San Juan (Ciudad Real) and was attended by various specialists.

On November 4 and 5, in Alcázar de San Juan (Ciudad Real), took place the Internationalcongress "Cervantes and "Don Quixote" from Alcázar (literature, history, society)", organized by the group of research Siglo de Oro (GRISO) of the School of Philosophy and Letters of the University, the City Council of Alcázar de San Juan and the Cervantine Society of Alcázar de San Juan. Also, it has counted on the partnership of the group of research Spanish Classical Theater (GITCE) of the University of Castilla-La Mancha, the high school of programs of study Auriseculares (IDEA) and the D. O. Vinos de La Mancha.

The workshop of the 4th took place in the Noble Hall of the Town Hall. The opening ceremony was attended by Rosa Melchor, mayoress of Alcázar de San Juan; Rafael González Cañal, manager of GITCE, representing the University of Castilla-La Mancha; Juan Bautista Mata, president of the Cervantine Society of Alcázar; and Carlos Mata, secretary of GRISO, who in his speech presented the topic "Cervantes recreated in contemporary Spanish historical narrative (García Jambrina, Eslava Galán and others)". On Saturday 5, the activities moved to the headquarters of committee Regulator of the D. O. Vinos de La Mancha, where its president, Carlos David Bonilla, welcomed the participants. 

The two academic conference were completed with various cultural visits: to the Hidalgo Museum, which included a tasting of wines from La Mancha; to the Wine Interpretation Center of La Mancha; to the Mills of Alcázar de San Juan, with an exhibition of traditional milling; and to the parish file of the church of Santa María la Mayor, where the original of the baptismal certificate of Miguel de Cervantes, born in Alcázar, is kept.
