Wood offers thermal insulation four times better than brick, has a resistance/weight ratio 1.3 times better than steel and 10 times better than concrete, and resists deformation and collapse better than the latter two in the event of fire. These are some of the constructive and environmental advantages that this material offers and that are gathered in the informative guide 'Building with wood', elaborated by the Chair Wood of the School of Architecture of the University of Navarre and the Government of Navarre.

The publication aims to explain in a simple way the benefits and possibilities of this material in construction, both in terms of strength, fire resistance, durability, insulation capacity, acoustic properties, aesthetics, environmental friendliness and sustainability as
source of energy.

By way of example, guide includes numerous photographs of various buildings in Navarre in which employee wood has been used, as well as illustrations of other buildings around the world.

Building with wood' can be obtained through the Navarre delegations of the professional associations of architects and engineers at Building.
