On Wednesday , November 24, the third and last philosophical seminar of semester, was held at position by Professor Ignacio Garay, graduate "The most foolish of all possible atheisms: the value of the ontological argument".

The ontological argument, formulated by St. Anselm of Canterbury in the Proslogion, has been discussed and supported by numerous thinkers, thus remaining relevant to the philosophical landscape.

After explaining Findlay's version of the argument to deny the existence of God, and illustrating with the example of Maradona the discussion of whether or not existence is a perfection, he focused on the American philosopher Alvin Plantinga's formulation of the argument. Plantinga begins by stating that whether existence is a property or not is irrelevant to the argument since it is a prerequisite for having perfections and, after this, proceeds to make a reformulation in line with the notion of possible worlds.

"For Plantinga, a possible world is a world in which things could have been," Garay explained. Thus, the argument can be stated as "a being of maximum greatness, that is, perfect in every possible world, exists in a possible world; if said world were actual, it would be impossible for this being not to exist, but what is impossible in one world is impossible in all, therefore, it is impossible that in the actual world a being of maximum greatness does not exist."

Professor Garay went on to explain the various types of atheism, among which is foolish atheism: "God does not exist in today's world, but he does exist in some possible world".
