8 international universities participate in the Economics Case Competition

Students from centers in the United States, Canada and Finland arrive today in Pamplona

A total of 12 teams from eight U.S., Canadian and Finnish universities, in addition to those from School of Economics, will compete starting tomorrow in the University of Navarra Case Competition 2013 (UNICC'13).UNICC'13).

The competition is an academic competition in which students must apply in a internship way the knowledge acquired during their training: the jury submission a real case based on a problem of business and the students have a short period of time to come up with original and creative solutions, which must combine knowledge of finance, business strategy, communication and marketing, human resources and other skills needed in today's business .

Students from Aalto University, Carleton University, John Molson School of Business, Western University, Hec Montreal, University of Alberta, University of Florida and Innsbruck University will compete this week at the University of Navarra's Amigos Building to win the award, which will be awarded on Friday, March 15.

The students of the School of Economics participate every year in 4 or 5 competitions of this subject. This year they have traveled to Montreal and Kingston, in Canada, and to Washington, Seattle and San Diego in the United States. In past years they visited New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong and other destinations in an international circuit in which leading centers from all over the world participate.

This year, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of School of Economics, a Case Competition will be organized in Navarra. It will have three case studies that will only be revealed when the participants start working against the clock. Tuesday and Wednesday will be the preliminary rounds and Thursday will be spent 24 hours working on the last and most important case, which will decide the winner at workshop on Friday.

In addition to the educational component, the Case Competition serves to enhance the international dimension of the students, as well as their contacts. The conference of work will be complemented with cultural visits that will allow them to get to know Pamplona and Navarra: among other activities, they will be received at the City Hall, they will walk the route of the Encierro and go for pintxos, they will participate in guided tours of the campus and the Citadel and visit a winery.
