On June 8 took place the I Olympiad of Spelling organized by the School of Education and Psychology of the University of Navarra. This activity is part of the project Trivium developed by Helena Moro, student of 6th year of Pedagogy and Education primary, the former student María Percaz (Magisterio Primaria '17) and the teacher of high school Miravalles, M.ª Ángeles Sánchez-Ostiz. The goal of the Olympiad is to help raise awareness among schoolchildren about the importance of correct spelling and writing in Spanish.

In this first edition, fifty fifth and sixth grade students from three schools in Pamplona participated, and the winner was high school Miravalles in both categories (fifth and sixth). The individual winners were Maite Sánchez-Ostiz from 5th grade and Martina Vélaz, from 6th grade. student The overall winner of the whole Olympiad was Javier Garbayo from high school El Redín.

Throughout almost three hours, the students took individual and school tests, such as dictations or spelling written on the blackboard and oral spelling, which were evaluated by a jury composed of Manuel Casado Velarde, Full Professor of language Spanish, professor at the School of Philosophy y Letras and corresponding member of the RAE, Carmela Pérez-Salazar , professor of the School of Philosophy y Letras and Ana Zúñiga Lacruz professor teaching assistant doctor of the School of Education and Psychology of the University of Navarra.
