More than 170 students from 2nd grade high school diploma participate in the closing ceremony of the Excellence Program, held at the University

The XIV edition focused on sustainability.

The demographic challenge in the emptied Spain; the language in the political speeches of Spain; sustainability in haute couture; the impact of the Asian wasp in the ecosystem of our country; the tolerance to frustration of the younger generations; the importance of sport for emotional stability; or the future of digital media in the classroom. 

These are some of the topics researched and reflected upon by 173 students in the 2nd year of high school diploma, from 21 schools in Spain, in the framework of the Excellence Program. Excellence Program. This initiative, coordinated by the School of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Navarra, seeks to promote academic excellence and a broad and rigorous intellectual training committed to serving society. On March 9, the students attended the closing workshop of this XIV edition, which has had the participation of a total of 443 students from 4th of ESO and 1st and 2nd of high school diploma. 

After the presentation and defense of the papers, which were evaluated by 35 professors from different Schools, the closing ceremony lecture took place. The event was chaired by Julia Pavón, dean of the School of Philosophy and Letters, who was accompanied by Ángeles García de la Borbolla, professor and academic director of the Excellence Program; Sarah Ceniceros, from the Writing Center of the School; Cristhian Mestre, Director of development of Philosophy and Letters; and David Ramírez, doctor of Medicine, health psychologist and director of the PsychoSalud Pamplona Psychology Center, who gave the closing lecture . In his speech, the also researcher of the group Mente y Cerebro del Institute for Culture and Society (ICS) of the University of Navarra spoke to the attendees about emotional stability as core topic of success.

Afterwards, diplomas were handed out to the students who are completing the program this year. Marcos Garmendia, from high school Erain (San Sebastian), spoke on behalf of the students. Special recognition was also given to high school Alborada (Madrid), "for its 10-year commitment to educational excellence through the activities of the Excellence Program".
