Juan Pablo Dabdoub defended his thesis on the Education moral and character

Juan Pablo Dabdoub defended on June 27th his thesis "Education moral and Education of character. Study of the main proposals of the 20th and 21st centuries in the United States from the thought of Aristotle and Kant". In this way, Dabdoub joined the group of doctors of the School of Education and Psychology of the University of Navarra.

His work of research had several objectives: The first, "tocontribute to the development of the Education moral and character by identifying the objectives and notions of morality and character of the main approaches of the Education in these subjects of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries". The second, "to understand the conceptions of Education morality and character from the thought of Aristotle and Kant"; and finally, "to contrast the ethical foundations and objectives of contemporary approaches with those of Aristotle and Kant in order to better understand them".  

During his exhibition, the researcher explained the history and development of the Education moral and the Education of character during the 20th and 21st centuries in the United States through the analysis of the most relevant proposals of this period. He then focused on the various approaches of Aristotle and Kant, highlighting ten elements core topic of their moral thought.

Likewise, Dabdoub presented a comparative study between the keys of the contemporary approach with those proposed by both philosophers.

The panel was composed of: Fernando Gil, professor at the Complutense University of Madrid; José Antonio Jordán, professor at the Autonomous University of Barcelona; María García, professor of the National University of Education a Distancia; Juan Andrés Mercado, professor at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross (Rome); and Dolores Conesa, professor at the University of Navarra.

The thesis , which obtained a grade of A cum laude, was co-directed by Concepción Naval and Aurora Bernal, dean and vice dean of Office of Academic Affairs of the School of Education and Psychology.
