Alba Moreno, a student of the first promotion of Bilingual Medicine at the University of Navarra, received from the hands of Josep Bargalló, the Catalan Minister of Health, an award CIRIT 2004 from the Generalitat de Catalunya for her research 'Allopathy and homeopathy. Two worlds, one purpose'. Thus, the work was distinguished as one of the best among the 400 submitted by young people between 14 and 21 years old.

In the study, the author reflects on the effectiveness of traditional and alternative medicine. As she concludes, "allopathy acts more quickly, but homeopathy is more effective because patients who resort to it do not relapse. Both complement each other, because in the end written request share the same goal: to cure".

Patient follow-up and vademecum comparisons

The award-winning research is divided into two parts. The first consists of a theoretical background, introducing the history of both concepts and their respective origins, as well as their differences.

Secondly, the student from the University of Navarra presents her hypotheses based on the results she obtained from a follow-up of real patients. She also includes surveys, interviews and vademecum comparisons.

Alba Moreno carried out her analysis while she was studying at high school diploma at high school Claret, in Valls (Tarragona).
