Members of the School of Nursing meet at the I Annual meeting of Advances in Nursing. research

More than thirty professors and doctoral students shared their latest scientific findings.

More than thirty professors and doctoral students from the School of Nursing of the University of Navarra participated in the first edition of the Annual Advances meeting research . This is an event whose mission statement is to publicize the latest scientific findings and share them with the researchers of the academic center.

In total, 10 doctoral papers were presented at thesis on various topics such as "design and validation of a scale for measuring Degree of coexistence in patients with Parkinson's disease", "Promotion of mental health in childhood: design, implementation and assessment of an intervention program", "Translation and cultural adaptationof patient's perceptions of feeling known by their nurses scale for Spanish context", "Parental self-efficacy as an instrument favoring healthy life habits in children aged two to five years", among others.

The presentations were followed by several colloquiums and a roundtable on "research in Nursing and current affairs" whose goal was to raise dialogue on topics of research, current issues and reflect on the "art of questioning". "A whole challenge at a practical level and research when you face the collection of data of a study through interviews or focus groups," explained Marta Vidaurreta, one of the participants. Among the issues raised were how to choose the research question, which subject methodology to use, the challenges presented by research, how to create a comfortable environment for asking questions, and how to encourage the interviewee's openness.

"The program of the workshop has been organized by and for the doctoral students of the School of Nursing," explained the Vice-Dean of research and moderator of the event, Cristina García Vivar. On the other hand, she stressed the importance of this event subject since "being a university student is not a static condition; it implies a continuous scientific and professional growth that implies in turn a social responsibility and the search for truth through study and research".

- Lisseth Rodríguez Cruz: 'Health promotion and healthy environments in the university: assessment of a non-smoking policy in the university environment. project Healthy University 3'.

- Cayetana Ruiz Zaldíbar: 'Parental self-efficacy as an instrument to promote healthy life habits in children aged two to five years'.

- Marta Vidaurreta Fernández: 'The process of becoming a parent'.
