Silvia Cazalla and Javier Azanza, members of group of research TriviUN, have presented the communication "¿A mayor gloria del papa o del rey? Palabra e imagen, propaganda y representación del poder en las fiestas madrileñas de canonización (1622)" at the international congress "1622. Essere universali nel mondo cattolico. Monarchie iberiche e Papato tra gestione del sacro, santità, pratiche missionarie ed evangelizzazione".

This event, held in Rome from November 30 to December 2, was part of the activities to commemorate the fifth centenary of the canonizations of St. Isidore, St. Teresa of Avila, St. Francis Xavier, St. Ignatius of Loyola and St. Philip Neri.

Researchers Cazalla and Azanza analyzed the visual and propagandistic resources that were deployed in the festivities held at the Madrid court in 1622 around the canonization of these saints.

This congress, which has brought together dozens of international researchers, has been promoted by numerous institutions: the Spanish School of History and Archaeology in Rome-CSIC (EEHAR-CSIC), the Istituto di storia dell'Europa mediterranea del Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (Cnr-Isem), the Istituto Nazionale di Studi Romani (INSR), the Pontificia Università Lateranense, the network Columnaria/COREDEX and the Università Roma Tre. It was also supported by sponsorship of the Spanish Embassy to the Holy See.
