Twelve third year students of Degree in design of the University of Navarra have designed bracelets under the slogan "The distance unites us" with the goal to raise funds for La Palma. "The initiative arose from seeing all the news about the volcano, among us we commented on several occasions the status and thought it would be a good idea to design something to collaborate with the cause and to help them," explains Paula Gimeno, a student of the School of Architecture

"Later we communicated it to the School's management, who supported us with great enthusiasm. We contacted department Merchandising of the University of Navarra to materialize the idea. At the same time we worked on creating a video and a poster to advertise proposal so that the students would be aware of it and could also collaborate," adds the student from design.

The bracelets are available in five different colours and can be purchased at the Museo Universidad de Navarra and at different points of campus of the University. The funds raised will be donated in their entirety to the Caritas delegation of La Palma. The students have also organised themselves to sell these solidarity bracelets at the doors of the buildings of the campus in Pamplona.

The students who have taken part in the initiative are: Sergio Imirizaldu, Isabel Armendáriz, Raquel Venceslá, Pilar Casas, Ione Leiva, Alba Domingo, Helena Palet, Anna Martinez, Grazia Piana, Paulina Costa, Carmen Morató and Paula Gimeno.
