What would you highlight from the experience of congress?

Ibone: First of all, the topic of congress and its speakers. It was about social entrepreneurial leadership and all the speakers were entrepreneurs, very powerful, who realized the need to refund to society what they learned and now work to improve the world. Secondly, meeting students from many different universities with whom we share interests and initiatives that we will try to implement in our University.

Amaia: I especially liked the lecture given by Scott Budnick, founder and president of the NGO Anti-RecidivismCoalition. This film producer started a very important social work in the field of social reintegration of prisoners after shooting the movie "Hangover in Vegas". In his lecture he demonstrated that anyone has the power to change things and that doing it or not is in our hands.

What was your motivation for signing up?

Ibone: Mainly the topic of congress, as it is about leadership and entrepreneurship, topics that motivate me personally, but with a social aspect, which is not usually linked. The possibility to meet other students from top universities and business schools was a very interesting addition.

Amaia: Everything related to leadership attracts me a lot. Besides, it was about leadership together with the social aspect, the attention with people, and it is something that I am also passionate about, such as human resources and coaching. I saw that there was a possibility for attend, and I thought, why not try it?

What ideas did you bring back in your suitcase?

Ibone:To have a positive impact on society, all you need is the will and that you need to be well trained to increase your ability to have an impact.

Amaia: I believe that we all have the opportunity to change the world.

What would you highlight about the universities you have met?

Ibone:The diversity; some of them similar to the University of Navarra in size, values... others were public, much larger (up to 50,000 students) and from very different areas. All of them had very interesting courses and the most characteristic feature of many of them was their club system, managed by students.

Amaia: There were universities from all over subject, although most of them were from the United States. We all had the opportunity to present our universities to the other attendees. I was struck by a university in Frankfurt that offered internships to students from the second year and others, with very original initiatives such as Clarkson University, near New York, where it is compulsory to run a marathon along the programs of study.

What did you highlight about the University of Navarra?

Ibone:I spoke about the program of Degree of Economics in Leadership and Governance, of which I belong to the first promotion, and which has a program of challenges and project integrated. I focused on the integrated project , since it is a work in which the whole class participates and we have total freedom to plan and execute it. At the same time it is a way internship to apply what we study as a way to expose us to situations or problems that students from other Degrees do not encounter, encouraging or forcing us to get out of the comfort zone and to acquire useful skills. Being so free, involving so many students and being unusual, many of the students sent from US universities to the same congress were surprised and asked me afterwards about how it works, they wanted me to show them pictures....

Amaia: I made an introduction of the University, its positioning in the rankings, etc... and I focused on the IESE program offered by School of Economics. A program with which students of Economics and the double Degree in Law and ADE can take a semester in this business school and attend to classes with the methodology of case resolution, typical of business schools.
