More than a hundred people of all ages from Eslava and other neighboring towns, as well as Sangüesa and Villava, have participated in the family workshops that have been developed in the Roman city of Santa Cruz de Eslava on the occasion of the centenary of its finding. These educational workshops have been designed and led by a group of 16 students and two professors from the School of Education and Psychology of the University of Navarra.

Throughout the activity, visitors toured the site accompanied by Roman characters of the time and, among other activities typical of daily life in a Roman city, recreated ancient games, decorated pottery and built mosaics, as well as parading in funeral processions through the necropolis according to ancient customs.

This coming weekend, about 90 students between 3 and 12 years old from Sada, Cáseda and Aibar are expected to come to the Roman city to participate in the workshops for schools. Secondary school students from IES Sierra de Leire will also attend, for whom other specific workshops will be held. Also, in the afternoon, a specific training workshop for teachers will take place.

More than 1000 people have visited the Roman city to date thanks to these workshops and guided tours, which are part of the actions of agreement between the University of Navarra and the City Council of Eslava for the celebration of the centenary of Santa Cruz de Eslava.

The design and development of the activities runs to position of the School of Education and Psychology and the School of Philosophy and Letters of the academic center, with the partnership of CEDERNA-Garalur, in the framework of the PDR 2014-2020 financed by the FEADER Fund and Government of Navarra.
