University of Navarra participates in the John Molson School of Business Case Competition

The University of Navarra's School in Economics competed with some of the best business schools from around the world in the John Molson Undergraduate Case Competition (JMUCC 13). Ana Cristina Hernández, a student of Degree in bilingual Economics , Xavier Henríquez, enrolled in Liberal Arts, and Tatiana Sánchez, a bilingual Business Management student, traveled to Montreal (Canada) as part of the School delegation.

The JMUCC competition, which, like all Case Competitions, tried to find solutions to real problems in the business world, was divided into two sections: a 3-short case format and a 24-hour case format.

During the first phase, the teams discussed cases on three Canadian companies: Jobbook, Frank & Oaks and Raymon Leasing Corporation. The participants had three hours of preparation time, after which they presented their recommendations to senior executives of these companies.

For the final case, the participating teams had 24 hours to prepare a strategic plan for Nivea in Canada, with challenge to face entrance new competitors in the men's cosmetics market. The teams presented their proposals to a panel of executives, including Nivea Canada executives.

Students had the opportunity to bridge the gap between classroom and the real world, while companies listened to fresh and creative proposals, the ideas of the world's best young talent.

Participants also had the opportunity to relax and enjoy the city of Montreal. In addition to receptions and cocktail parties organized by the event organizers at iconic locations in the city, the teams were also able to attend to a field hockey game, one of the star sports in Canada.
