The group of research Siglo de Oro (GRISO) of the University of Navarra participated in the XVII congress of the association International Hispanists (IAH), held recently in Rome. This meeting, which takes place every three years, constitutes the most important meeting of Hispanism worldwide. The congress was held at the University of Rome-La Sapienza and was attended by some 600 researchers from all over the world.

The University of Navarra was represented by GRISO researchers Ignacio Arellano, Juan Manuel Escudero and Carlos Mata Induráin. Professor Arellano presented a work graduate "De Babilonia a Sión. Corografía mística en los autos de Calderón"; Professor Escudero spoke on "Los mecanismos alegóricos en el auto sacramental calderoniano El laberinto del mundo"; and Professor Mata gave a panoramic view of "El Siglo de Oro a través de la novela histórica actual".

In addition, Ignacio Arellano, director of the GRISO, was in charge of coordinating the meeting de Investigadores Siglo de Oro, a forum in which the three experts took the opportunity to present the various projects of research and the latest publications of group: the critical edition of the autos sacramentales and comedies of Calderón, the edition of the burlesque comedies of the Golden Age, the high school of programs of study Tirsianos and its publication of the complete works of Tirso de Molina, the monographic magazines dedicated to Quevedo (La Perinola) and Calderón (yearbook calderoniano), the Centro de programs of study Indianos and its collection "Library Services Indiana", the collection "Library Services Áurea Hispánica", etc.

Information was also provided on the upcoming congresses organized by the GRISO until the end of 2010: Authority and Power in Spain and America: from finding to Independence, in September in Lima; Power Conflicts in the Hispanic World of the Golden Age, in October in Philadelphia; I congress Ibero-Asian Hispanists of the Golden Age, in November in Delhi. Authority and power in the Golden Age: the critique of power in the Iberian world, 16th and 17th centuries, in November in Coimbra; Ingenuity, theology and drama in Calderon's autos sacramentales, in December in Pamplona.
