The University of Navarra celebrates this Wednesday, the 26th, Solidariun 18, a workshop dedicated to solidarity. 54 NGOs from Navarra will inform students and professionals about their work and the social needs that exist in Pamplona and the region. In this way, they will offer the possibility of becoming a volunteer and participate in their different activities.

The meeting, organized by Tantaka, will take place at Amigos Building from 10 am to 3.30 pm. In addition to the NGO stands, the workshop will feature the lecture of the creator of the campaign "Pastillas contra el dolor ajeno", Jorge Martinez, who has contributed to the work of Doctors Without Borders. partner founder of Germinal Comunicación, devised this initiative to produce and market a painkiller that does not cure pain, but the pain of those who have no resources to mitigate it. The session will take place at 12 noon.

The Solidariun awards will then be presented in four categories: to the most supportive School , to the most supportive service, to the most supportive volunteer and to the winner of the photo and video contest, organized for volunteers who have participated in international cooperation projects. At 2 p.m., the participants will end the workshop with a solidarity paella.

1,291 volunteers

In the 2017-18 academic year Tantaka, the Solidarity Time Bank of the University of Navarra, had 1,291 volunteers. Of these, 1,066 are students and 188 professionals from the University (the rest -37- are from outside the University). In total, these volunteers collaborated with 145 projects and 134 associations, investing a total of 50,921 hours in social actions.
