Loreto Spá: "Clients do not ask for the design of a project. They ask for a complete service".
The speaker addressed the students of the School of Architecture to explain how her professional career has influenced her vision of design of services
Loreto Spá, director of "Loreto Spá Creative Architecture", gave a lecture at lecture at the School of Architecture University of Navarra, entitled "design of services: visions and experiences from the architectural profession". The architect transmitted to the students the values she has developed during her professional career: projecting, learning and promote.
Spá began its exhibition by making reference letter to the profile multidisciplinary which is currently in demand in the market. "We have realized that customers are not asking for the design of a project. They ask for a complete service: design, marketing, distribution... everything." For this reason, the architect defined the design of services as "a set of knowledge with which to offer different jobs to solve a problem to a client".
The Grenadian highlighted her professional career by explaining her passage through different areas: business, level of services of programs of study architecture, and finally that of design services.
The latter was accompanied by two visual examples that helped the students to understand what design of services consists of. Both cases were projects of ephemeral works in which the architect was at position. The first was the exhibition "Álvaro Portillo. Un santo en data", an itinerant project in 9 cities in Spain that began in Pamplona. The second consisted of transforming a garage into a pharmacy in 48 hours, due to the start of works in the latter and with the aim of not reducing sales goal .
