MDA students propose urban strategies for 5 Pamplona sites proposed by the City Council
They have focused on Paseo Sarasate, the gas corralillos, the tannery building, the convent of the Agustinas in Aranzadi and the banks of the Arga river.
The students of Master's Degree in design Architectural (MDA) of the University of Navarra have worked on the development of urban strategies on some sectors or buildings of Pamplona, proposed by the City Council of the city. The exercise was developed in the framework of a theory course given by José Miguel Iribas, sociologist and urban planning specialist.
Specifically, the students have focused on Paseo Sarasate ( Florencia Cisneros and Damián Capano), the gas corralillos ( Lucía Cella and José Antonio Serrano), the tannery building (Juan José Perez Moncho and Tomás Kenny), the convent of the Agustinas in Aranzadi (Amaia Prat and Íñigo Basarrate) and the banks of the Arga (Juan Orcoyen).

The official presentation of the projects was attended by Juan José Echeverría, Pamplona City Councilor for Urban Planning; Miguel Hualde, trustee of the Fundación Arquitectura y Sociedad; José Manuel Pozo, director of the Master in Architectural design ; and the Urban Planning professors of the School of Architecture Conrado Capilla and Efrén Munárriz.
At the beginning of the course, the students toured the historic center of Pamplona with José Miguel Iribas to get a closer look at the places for which the mayor, Enrique Maya, suggested finding a socially profitable use.
