The book "Figura con paisajes: Baroja y Navarra", a collective work coordinated by Gabriel Insausti, poet and professor of Contemporary Literature at the School of Philosophy and Letters of the University, will be presented next Thursday 27th at 8 pm. The event, of free attendance, will take place at the bookshop Walden of Pamplona (Paulino Caballero street, 31).

Edited by Comares Literatura, the book offers an overview of the re-reading of Pío Baroja's personality and literary bequest and delves into his production from perspectives as diverse as Philology, history, Philosophy, geography or plastic arts.among others, with Navarre as a common thread. In addition to being deeply rooted staff in the region, Navarre was the setting for many of the Basque writer's stories, as Insausti explains: "His narrative includes a recurring assessment of the history of Navarre, especially the confrontation between liberals and Carlists in the 19th century".

This monograph is result of a lecture series organized last October by the Chair of language and Basque Culture of the School of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Navarra. The meeting, sponsored by the Government of Navarra, brought together the views of more than a dozen specialists in the writer and his work. Among others, the work has the signature of experts such as Patxi Caspistegui, María del Mar Larraza, Felipe Juaristi and Gabriel Insausti himself.
