Ane Miren Salvador, a 5th year Pharmacy student at the University of Navarra, obtained a scholarship from the Amgen Europe Foundation for a summer internship at one of the most prestigious research centers in the world, high school Karolinska, in Stockholm.

The student from Guipuzcoa located the Amgen Foundation grants and applied for one of its 2,400 scholarships for students from all over the world who would like to start in the field of research in three of the most important European centers: the high school Karolinska (Sweden), the University of Cambridge (United Kingdom) and the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (Germany).

"In my case, during the two months I spent at high school Karolinska, I was part of a team at research working with p53 tumor suppressor activator drugs. My project consisted of studying the efficacy of a combination therapy of two of these drugs for the treatment of cervical cancer," explains the student.

After the experience, Ane Miren recommends to all students to make a stay of this subject: "For me it has been an incredible essay , where I was made to feel part of the team from the beginning. I was able to get to know how a laboratory works and live with students from all over the world who are looking for their professional future just like you".

The Amgen Foundation's scholarship covered both travel and accommodation in Stockholm, as well as participation in social and cultural activities in the city.
