Is it possible to be an astronomer without seeing the stars? How can a person with autism bring advantages in the working world? These and other questions will be addressed in the VII edition of the cycle of the University of Navarra Training to Understand Disability, organized by Tantaka.

The sessions, which will take place every Monday in February, will be attended by Diana Bohórquez, psychologist and director of business social Specialisterne; Enrique Pérez Montero, from high school de Astrofísica de Andalucía; Becky Siegel, choreographer, dance teacher and director of the Kon Moción company; and Óscar Rived, coach of the Psicobasket Ardoi team from Navarre.

This edition will focus on showcasing the limitless talent of people with disabilities, highlighting the technical benefits they can bring to the world of work. This is an interdisciplinary training cycle with the goal to provide the necessary knowledge about people with disabilities. Registrations can be made at the following link.

About the speakers

average Specialisterne is a social business that provides training and employment rate to people on the autism spectrum by focusing on the special skills present in them: attention to detail, logical and analytical skills, ability to concentrate for long periods of time, and zero tolerance for failure.

Enrique Pérez Montero is an astronomer and suffers from retinosis, a degenerative disease that causes vision loss. He divulges through Astro accessible, a project to explain to other ONCE members that it is possible to be interested and learn astronomy without seeing.

The project "Dancing from who we are" started with people with chronic illnesses, first multiple sclerosis, then Parkinson's, and eventually expanded to include disability and the elderly. The main goal is that everyone can dance.

Psicobasket was created in 2011 and its main goal is to give the possibility to people with disabilities to practice a therapeutic sport. The team works on the motor and cognitive needs of the players through adapted basketball training, in which they carry out different activities and games.
