She has been appointed to proposal of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism.

Natalia López Moratalla, professor of Biochemistry of the University of Navarra, has been appointed member of the committee of Bioethics of Spain, at proposal of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism. This institution was created as a collegiate, independent and consultative body on matters related to the ethical and social implications of Biomedicine and Health Sciences, and is attached to the Ministry of Health and Consumer Affairs. It is also responsible for representing Spain in international forums and for drawing up codes of good practice for biomedical research .

Together with López Moratalla, who is also president of the Spanish Bioethics and Medical Ethics association , eleven other people from the scientific, legal and bioethical world have been elected: six at proposal from the autonomous communities, one from the Ministry of Justice, another from the Ministry of Education and Science, and three from the Ministry of Health and Consumer Affairs.
