The University of Navarra hosted the celebration of the VIII workshop of research in Experimental and Health Sciences. More than 100 people participated in the event and 65 presentations were given by researchers from Schools of Science, Nursing, Medicine and research center Applied Medicine.

The program included the reading of oral communications such as"Improvement of heart regeneration by a tissue engineering strategy", "The experience of living with advanced stage cancer" or"Identification of a protein-based prognostic signature for stage I-II in non-small cell lung cancer", among others. The latter was presented by Elena Martínez Terroba, from department Histology and Anatomy Pathology, who won the award for the Best Oral presentation . In addition, several posters were exhibited and a speed networking session was organized.

Finally, Usune Etxeberría, from department of Food Science and Physiology; Mikel Queralt, from department of Environmental Biology; Iván Cordón, from area of Neurosciences of CIMA; Simón Pascual, from department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Technology research Biomedical; Mery Jhenny Santivañez, from department of Chemistry Organic and Pharmaceutical; and Iván Cortes, from department of Physics and Applied Mathematics were also awarded.

Great atmosphere researcher and scientific

The workshop of research in Experimental and Health Sciences of the University of Navarra, which has reached its eighth edition, has as goal that doctoral students from area of Sciences share their work and make it known among researchers from different Departments.

In this sense, Mikel Queralt, one of the winners, said that "the atmosphere that day is very similar to a congress, you have to prepare a poster, a presentation,.... In addition, it is a good time to analyze your results and show them to your colleagues".

For her part, Usune Etxeberria, also recognized for her research, pointed out how the conference "gives all doctoral students the opportunity to learn first-hand about the work of others within the University. Everyone should take advantage of this opportunity to share experiences among young researchers in a close and relaxed atmosphere".
