Punishments of lewdness: women with reptiles, adulterers and sodomites

It is one of the most represented sins in Tudela, and in general in medieval art. Among the punishments of lasciviousness we can distinguish the traditional representation of lust in a woman attacked by reptiles in the breasts and genitals, to whom some devils show a mirror, an attribute of lust but also of vanity and pride. But in Tudela lasciviousness is not limited to this traditional representation, but the representations of sins in relation to it and the corresponding punishments are diversified. Adultery is present in the couple to whom a demon shows a mirror, and that in the upper voussoir is burned in a cauldron. Sodomy is punished by means of a devil who carries two men hanging upside down from a pole by their genitals, thus making reference letter their character of "inverted" and maintaining the guideline sinner organ/punished organ that was general in the Age average.
