Paradise

Located to the left of the visitor we find Paradise, where the elect appear in pairs or groups of three, conversing serenely, in contrast to the dynamism that reigns in hell. We can distinguish angels, who wear crowns and scepters to receive the elect; prophets with phylacteries; holy martyrs (who carry the palm, attribute of that martyrdom) or others simply nimbus (symbol of holiness). In this way, these last figures are an example for the spectators and a link between humanity and the glory represented by the previous characters. We also find the resurrection of the dead, in this case the resurrection of the elect, in contrast to the resurrection of the damned on the right side, who come out of their tombs with faces full of compunction, typical of those who already know the terrible fate that awaits them.
