Brenda Nadia Chino Vilca, a former student of Master's Degree in Educational and Psychological Intervention (MIEP), obtained a scholarship for a specialist program entitled "Children at risk in early childhood", granted by the Government of Israel.

Since you finished Master's Degree in Educational and Psychological Intervention, what has been your professional career path?

Currently, I am part of the group of research of the Universidad Católica San Pablo, in Peru, in the area of Neurosciences and Neuropsychology. I also participate as a member of the Center of programs of study and research in Psychology and Neuropsychology of the National University of San Agustin in Arequipa. After my return from Spain to my country, Peru, I worked in a psycho-pedagogical center specialized in learning difficulties.

Recently, she has been in Israel, as a result of a scholarship for a specialist program on early childhood.

In fact, the reason for my trip to Israel was a scholarship for a specialist program called "Children at risk in early childhood" granted by the Government of Israel. For this course, three representatives were selected from the 10 Latin American countries from which the call was made, in order to share proposal and experiences on early childhood. The course took place from January 4 to 21 of this year, at the Golda Meir Mashav "Carmel" International Training Center in Haifa, with visits to public institutions to learn about the work being developed on social risk in the country.

What were the selection criteria for the proposals?

The selection process was meticulous, it valued the achievements obtained at the time of the candidacy presentation , the projects carried out in the country on early childhood and the possibility of replication to other professionals. I presented a program called "Formando Líderes" which was developed with primary and secondary school students in my country to detect violence among students.

How do you rate the experience?

Being able to share experiences and the transmission of knowledge has been invaluable, not only because of the welcome of the country's authorities and the level of training and experience of the speakers, but also because of the representatives of the elected countries, most of whom were directors of early childhood social programs in Latin America, giving me the opportunity to assess the impact of various programs and the possibility of being able to implement them in my country, Peru.

How has what you have learned at Master's Degree helped you?

What I learned at Master's Degree has allowed me to evaluate from a different perspective what was pointed out by various trainers, and to analyze more critically the programs proposed in the participating countries, in addition to giving me the guidelines for the proposal of networks and campaigns to be initiated in early childhood, many of which have been highly valued during the training.
