A professor of the University of Navarra, honorary academician of the Royal Academy of the Basque language
The Royal Academy of the Basque language , Euskaltzaindia, has named Ana Etxaide, professor at the University of Navarra, as honorary academician. The institution thus distinguishes her work in favor of the Basque language.
Ana Etxaide, a native of San Sebastian, has been linked to the University of Navarra since 1964, when she began teaching, until her retirement. At campus in Pamplona she was director of the department of General Linguistics and of the Chair of language and Basque Culture. In 1994 she started and directed the Diploma of programs of study Vascos. In 2009 she was distinguished as a member of the Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters 'Jakiunde'.
