An international symposium analyzed injustice in the trials of the 15th, 16th and 17th centuries. Experts in Philosophy, Law and Theology from various Spanish and foreign academic centers participated in the conference, which took place at the University of Navarra.

There they discussed the treatises De iustitia et iure, written in the Golden Age and in which it is stated, at purpose of the issues raised by St. Thomas in Summa Theologica, that, among the modes of injustice, those that refer to the judicial forum have a special significance. It also indicated that, in the first place, there is the injustice that can be committed by the judge in judging; in second place, the injustice of the accuser in accusing; in third place, the injustice of the defendant in defending himself; in fourth place, the injustice of the witness in testifying; and, in fifth place, the injustice of the lawyer in his attendance.

The symposium, organized by the School of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Navarra and directed by Professor Juan Cruz Cruz, is part of the project Spanish Classical Thought, whose objectives include the edition and translation of classical texts and their sources.
