The GRISO of the University of Navarra participates in Münster in the VII International congress of the association Cervantista

Carlos Mata, Luis Galván, Jéssica Castro and Adrián Sáez intervened in the meeting, considered the most important congress on Cervantes in the world.

The group of research Siglo de Oro (GRISO) of the University of Navarra has participated in the VII congress International association Cervantist (VII CINDAC, 2009), considered the most important meeting around Cervantes in the world. The event, which took place in the Castle of Münster (Germany), was organized by the University of Münster and the association de Cervantistas, in partnership with the high school Cervantes and other institutions.

The University of Navarra was represented by GRISO professors Luis Galván and Carlos Mata, doctoral student Jéssica Castro and student Adrián Sáez. In the framework of congress various topics on the life and work of the author were addressed, such as Don Quixote, the Exemplary Novels, the Persiles, Cervantes' theater, the presence of Cervantes in the Hispanic world, etc.

Professor Luis Galván spoke on "Death and Form in Don Quixote" and Carlos Mata analyzed two nineteenth-century works in which Cervantes intervenes as a fictional character. Meanwhile, doctoral student Jéssica Castro spoke on Don Quixote in Chile, at purpose of the MicroQuixotes by Juan Armando Epple; and Adrián Sáez, student of the 4th year of Philology, focused on the commentary of colloquium of the dogs from the classical and biblical tradition.

Granted by the association de Cervantistas

Both Jéssica Castro and Adrián Sáez obtained a grant scholarship from the association de Cervantistas, aimed at young researchers, to attend this congress and read their work. The same scholarship was granted to a reduced issue of students from different countries in Europe, Asia and America. The next quotation of the congress Internacional de la association de Cervantistas, which is held every three years, will take place in Oviedo in 2012.
