GRISO organiza en Colombia dos congresos internacionales sobre Calderón y el teatro del Siglo de Oro
GRISO organizes two international congresses in Colombia on Calderón and the theater of the Golden Age
The meetings, held in Bogota and Cali, brought together some twenty researchers from Spain, Colombia, Mexico, Costa Rica, Brazil, the United States and Canada.
The group of research Siglo de Oro (GRISO) of the University of Navarra has organized two international conferences in Colombia on Calderón and the theater of the Golden Age in Spain and America. The first, "Calderón entremesista y el teatro breve del Siglo de Oro en la Península y América", was organized at partnership with the group of programs of study of Renaissance and Baroque of the Universidad de los Andes (Colombia) and the group of research Calderón (GIC) of the Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, and was supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Colombia. The second congress, held in Cali, was dedicated to "Teatro del Siglo de Oro y tradición popular", and was co-organized by the GRISO and the laboratory Escénico Univalle of the department de Artes Escénicas of the Universidad del Valle (Cali, Colombia).
Researchers from seven countries
Both meetings brought together a total of twenty researchers from Spain, Colombia, Mexico, Costa Rica, Brazil, the United States and Canada. The University of Navarra was represented by Ignacio Arellano, Director of the GRISO, and by Celsa Carmen García Valdés, researcher of the team, who read papers at both meetings. It should be noted that the organization of these two conferences is part of the activities of project CONSOLIDER "Patrimonio teatral clásico español. Texts and instruments of research " of the Ministry of Science and Innovation of the Government of Spain.
