More than 500 students will carry out practical activities at the laboratory de la School of Architecture
In the 1,000 m2 facility, an area has been set up for students to build models.
More than 500 students from the School of Architecture of the University of Navarra will carry out during this academic year practical activities in the laboratory of the School of Architecture, a space of 1,000 m2 of surface.
As a novelty, a place with tools has been set up in the multipurpose area for students to build models. Practical sessions will also continue to be held in the other two areas of laboratory: the Structures area and the construction classrooms.
In this way, the School intends to reinforce the internship aspect of the degrees of Degree, Master's Degree and doctorate, both in terms of knowledge of construction products and the techniques of essay for the control of construction works, and in the experimental phases of the work of research.
Independent technical work for external companies
In addition to supporting the work professor, laboratory will continue to carry out independent technical work for developers, designers, project managers, construction companies, suppliers, end users, insurance companies... Since its creation in 1966 to date, it has undertaken assignments for companies and institutions such as Aenor, ArcelorMittal, Thyssen Krupp, Telefónica, Nissan Forklifts, Helvetia, Bonduelle and the Government of Navarra, among others.
As laboratory of tests, it carries out physical, mechanical and chemical test certificates; programs of study and geotechnical reports for foundations, earthworks, rehabilitations...; programs of study and information tests on materials, Structures, etc.; service tests -such as slab loading-; quality control; and tests oriented to obtain certificates of conformity with national and international standards.
On the other hand, it carries out programs of study, reports and technical advice in the field of construction, such as assessing the characteristics of products, their suitability and their pathologies. It also participates together with companies in the development of research and development+i works on improvement and development of construction products, manufacturing self-control, and consultancy service and attendance technical advice to manufacturers and users. Finally, it advises on the technical design and manufacturing of construction products so that they comply with the technical requirements necessary to achieve the CE Marking of Conformity or Technical Suitability Documents.
