Five biologists and biochemists obtain place in the examination for Resident Biologist Intern (biochemistry residency program)
The graduates of the School of Sciences of the University of Navarra have obtained one of the 52 places offered in all Spain
Two biologists and three biochemists, graduates of the School of Sciences of the University of Navarra, have obtained place in the last exam for Internal Resident Biologist (biochemistry residency program), where 52 places were offered for all of Spain.
They are Fernando Gallego -place 23-, María Calvo -place 35-, Maitane Izaguirre -issue 36-, David Sáenz -45- and Alicia Ruiz Ripa, who has been placed 47th.
The test, similar to the spanish medical residency program of physicians, is oriented to biologists and biochemists who want to specialize for four years in Microbiology and Parasitology, Clinical Analysis, Immunology and Biochemistry Clinical within the system of training Specialized Health Care (FSE), which is taught in public and private centers and hospitals. At the end of this period, the official degree scroll of Specialist Biologist or Specialist Biochemist is obtained.
As Maite Izaguirre explains, her goal now is to get place in the Clínica Universidad de Navarra to do the specialization program in Biochemistry Clínica. Alicia Ruiz, for her part, will try to opt for Microbiology: "It is the area that interests me. Since I started degree program I have wanted to do the biochemistry residency program. In addition, I am motivated by the world of research, with which I became familiar when I did my internship in a hospital".
Fernando Gallego, on the other hand, will opt for Clinical Analysis in a hospital in Madrid: "I decided to take the exam last year, because it is a way to ensure a place for at least four years and to define your future with more peace of mind".
