The Education of the 'net generation', to discussion in the University of Navarra

The University of Navarra will host on February 8 and 9 the XXXVIII seminar of Educational Centers of the University of Navarra, under the degree scroll "New forms of communication and interactive generations: impact educational".

In this workshop, various experts from the world of Education, law, psychology and communication will meet to "study from different points of view how to educate the new net generation", according to Maica Gonzalez, organizer of the event.

In this sense, Belén Ochoa, professor of department of Education of the University of Navarra, assures that "the use of new technologies in young people is a very important potential of development of certain skills, but the abusive or too centralized use can cause problems added to the already daily difficulties regarding the Education".

Specialists will discuss social networks and their legal implications; the challenges, opportunities and risks of these tools for socialization; how technology affects school performance; and plans to prevent the misuse of new technologies at school employment .

To analyze these issues on Monday, February 8, José Luis Orihuela, director of laboratory of Multimedia Communication at the University of Navarra; Arturo Canalda, Ombudsman for Minors in the Community of Madrid; Charo Sádaba, director of department of business Informative of the University of Navarra; and Belén Ochoa, professor of department of Education of the academic center will intervene.

Also, on Tuesday, the 9th, Javier Urra, first Child Ombudsman and director of Urra Infancia; Juan Manuel Romero, vice-president of Digital Addictions; and Hildegart González, General Manager of the association of advertising and Communication Companies of Navarra will participate.
