The project "Pedagogical Architecture" of the high school IES Marqués de Villena has been the winner of the first edition of the competition Implica-Twhich aims to involve the students of the IES Marqués de Villena in the high school diploma in the development and the future of the educational centers in which they study.

The contest, co-organized by the School of Education and Psychology of the University of Navarra and the Moderna FoundationThe competition, co-organized by the University of Navarra and the Moderna Foundation, had 10 participating teams, four of which competed in the finals held this morning at the academic center.

The projects "Let's build our Education", from IES Marqués de Villena; "Ecological Garden", from high school Irabia; "Radio Auzolan", from IES Marqués de Villena; and "Rehabilitation of sports center", from high school Hijas de Jesús, have presented their proposals to a jury composed of representatives of the School of Education and Psychology of the University of Navarra, the Moderna Foundation and Xtend, business sponsor of the contest.

Several proposals, one and the same goal: improving the environment

"We need to raise awareness among all agents that improving our space and environment is important to improve the Education", said the members of the winning project , which has proposed a series of "aesthetic and functional reforms to improve coexistence in the center". Televisions like noticeboard of announcements, car park of bicycles or improvement of the decoration have been some of the ideas of the winning proposal .

The project "Pedagogical Architecture", in the words of the jury, aims to "have a motivating effect on the entire community of students, teachers and parents in the transformation of a space educational that motivates learning and the spirit of partnership and commitment".

For its part, "Huerto ecológico" of high school Irabia has presented an idea of "innovative organic garden" in order to promote the cooperative work , besides having a clear social commitment: "All proceeds from the sale of vegetables would go to help the Monkole Hospital in the Congo".

Another proposal of the IES Marqués de Villena has been "Radio Auzolan", a communicative vehicle with which "to give voice to all the students and to bring the media closer to the youth". The high school Hijas de Jesús has devised a project of "Rehabilitation of the sports center" with the goal to transform it into a new space for the theatrical representation. This proposal has stood out for the involvement of its students in reducing the costs involved in carrying it out.

The Dean of the School of Education and Psychology of the University of Navarra, Concepción Naval, congratulated all the proposals and highlighted "the commitment and social dimension of the School and the University, which will continue to be cultivated in the coming years to improve our environment every day".
