On Monday, October 3, the cartoonist, caricaturist and graphic humorist César Oroz shared a session with the students of the subject Art History of the 19th Century, taught by Professor José Javier Azanza. The partner of Diario de Navarra and of other publications such as the monthly digital humor magazine Pride and Satisfaction showed off his caricatured wit, while telling the students the reasons for his inspiration and the long journey of Spanish cartoonists.

The approach to the universe of caricature in the nineteenth century by artists such as the French Honoré Daumier (1808-1879) gave rise to the Navarrese cartoonist's visit . During the course of the session he talked to the students about many different topics, such as his love of drawing and his first steps in the world of graphic humor, with the help of his references in the world of comics (Ibáñez, Escobar, Jan, Luis Bagaría, Gallego y Rey, Forges and Mingote). Oroz commented that as he perfected his technique, he was shaping his own style with which he identifies himself today. In the same way, the cartoonist explained the process of creating a comic strip, his approach to the closest reality through the Sanferminero, Osasuna and student universe or the role that graphic humor should play in politics. Framed in the agenda of class, he did not hesitate to say that sometimes he finds inspiration in the world of art.

There was no shortage of anecdotes from his thirty years dedicated to graphic humor, as well as advice for young attendees interested in to get started in the world of caricature and graphic humor. At the end of the class, César Oroz wanted to present the students and Professor Azanza with a live caricature as sample of gratitude for the time shared.
