The laboratory of Humanities Digital of the School of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Navarra, in partnership with the International Society of Hispanic Digital Humanities (HDH), has organized the workshop "Humanists in the digital era". It will be held next Friday, December 11. in the classroom 01 of the Amigos Building. Due to health circumstances, the capacity is limited, so the meeting can also be followed online, via Zoom, in this link.

The workshop will begin with the session "Why the Digital Humanities are Humanities we need?" and will be given by Nuria Rodriguez Ortega, president of the International Society of Hispanic Digital Humanities (HDH) and Professor of Art History at the University of Malaga. Then, Professor Juan José Pons, director of laboratory of Humanities Digital, will present this new project of the School to the attendees. The workshop will also gather experiences and projects in Humanities Digital already developed or underway at the University and other institutions, to exchange experiences and establish networking among participants.

As Pons points out, "the Digital Humanities have burst with force as a way of approaching the cultivation, the teaching and the knowledge dissemination in the field of Humanities and social sciences". He assures that this discipline "awakens the interest of many people who wish to incorporate in their field of specialization tools and methodologies of the digital era or want to learn about their content and application possibilities".
