A financial analysis of Fluidra, the world's leading industrial pool and wellness company. This challenge was the challenge faced by 4th year ADE + Finance & Accounting students Xabier Ruiz and brothers Hodei and Ekaitz Migueltorena -with Breogan Vázquez as faculty advisor- in the Spanish final phase of the CFA Research Challenge. They obtained a great third place after having passed a first eliminatory round in which thirteen universities and business schools from all over Spain had participated. 

On the Madrid Stock Exchange's framework , the students prepared an investment proposal , an evaluation and gave a buy/sell recommendation for the business analyzed. "The competition helped us to put all the financial and evaluation company knowledge we had acquired so far into internship ," says Hodei.

Regarding the case, Xabier points out the added complication that Fluidra is a business listed on the IBEX35 but "operates in a sector about which there is not much information". This has made them, as he says, in colloquial terms, have to "pull their own chestnuts out of the fire".

In a competition in which they have had to measure themselves against people from business schools, they close their participation satisfied with the work and everything they have learned along the way. "Those students interested in this world should not hesitate to sign up for the competition. It's well worth it," Ekaitz points out. Who knows if, through this initiative, they will focus their future as analysts or managers.
