MDGAE students stay at the University of Dresden
Previously, students from the University of Dresden and Cardiff visited the University's School of Architecture .
The students of the Master's Degree in design and management Building Environmental (MDGAE) of the School of Architecture of the University of Navarra spent two weeks at the University of Dresden (Germany).
The goal of this visit was to deepen the knowledge of wood construction. The classes given to the students focused on aspects such as the ancient Japanese methodology in the use of this material, and the most current trends in wood construction.
In addition, they also produced a proposal of design urban using the molded wooden tubes for the campus of the University of Dresden.
On the other hand, the students made several visits to the city, visiting the Military Museum, among others. They also visited the factory of Deutsche Werksttatte Dresden, a business dedicated to the interior construction of luxury yachts. There, they learned about the materials that this business produces and the subject of specific construction techniques for the construction of these vessels.
This is the second visit that MDGAE students have done this year. Last December, Cardiff University hosted ten students for two weeks with the goal to delve into aspects of sustainability on an urban scale.
International student staysThanks to a agreement of the School of Architecture with the University of Dresden and the University of Cardiff, both MDGAE students and students from the German and British universities have the opportunity to carry out several stays in these institutions.
Thus, the School hosted 25 international students from both international entities from March 5 to 16, coinciding with the Sustainability Weeks organized by the MDGAE.
These students attended classes and workshops given by international architects Byron Stigge, Peter Fisher and framework Perino; in addition, together with MDGAE students, they visited sustainable buildings in the region of Pamplona and Zaragoza.
