The current health crisis has led to fail the celebrations in honor of San Fermin. This year, the streets of Pamplona will not be dyed red and white, there will be no chupinazo, no traditional and multitudinous procession, no running of the bulls, no parades, no popular demonstrations that make our festivities a world-renowned quotation .

For this reason, the Chair of Navarrese Heritage and Art School of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Navarra proposes for these daysvirtual guided tours to commemorate San Fermin without leaving home. From Monday, July 6 to Friday, July 10, through the social networks of the School of Philosophy and Letters of the academic center, users can learn about the characteristics of the chapel and the treasure of San Fermin, the celebrations of a century ago through photographs, or the poster of the Sanfermines today, among other proposals.

"The Sanfermines that we know are the sum and condensation of traditions, customs, habits and diverse phenomena from different eras. As in so many other cases, it was the religious festivity that brought with it the recreational and celebratory diversions that have been changing with the historical evolution", explains Ricardo Fernández Gracia, director of the Chair de Patrimonio y Arte Navarro. "Festivals with their constants, components and functions constitute a dynamic phenomenon. Some traditions are maintained, others are lost, reappear or are created over the years. With these publications, we want to bring the public closer to the history and characteristics of the rich heritage linked to San Fermin that is preserved in the Community."

Visiting plan:

July 6th. Chapel of San Fermin

July 7th. Treasure of San Fermin

July 8th. The Royal Congregation of San Fermín de los Navarros

July 9th. The Sanfermines a century ago. Avalancha Magazine
