Mercedes Muñoz researches on audiovisual legislation at Oxford University
The professor of the School of Communication is one of the guest lecturers of the Comparative Law and Media Policy Program of the British center.
The professor of the School of Communication Mercedes Muñoz is at the University of Oxford since last July to develop a research stay that will last until December. Her goal there is to advance the project "The role of self-regulation and co-regulation in the new digital audiovisual market", on which she has been working for some time.
The study seeks the deepest possible approach to the role of self-regulation and co-regulation in the new European audiovisual legislation, focusing on different countries of the Old Continent, as detailed by the professor of the School Communication. It also seeks to point out the differences between audiovisual regulations and the self-regulation that governs the world of advertising.
Professor Muñoz's research is part of the Law Comparison and Media Policy Programme of the Center at programs of study partner -Legal at Oxford.. The tasks of this area of the British educational institution deal with the analysis of the different facets of Law and its impact on society. In this specific case, they deal with Communication Law and its trends, as well as the influence of Media Law in democratic systems.
