The University organizes a cycle on the intangible heritage of the Berrueza Valley

Organized by the Chair of language and Basque Culture and Etniker-Navarra, will be held on Saturday June 10 in Mirafuentes.

The Chair of language and Basque Culture of the University of Navarra and Etniker-Navarra celebrate this Saturday, the 10th, a lecture series on the intangible heritage of the Berrueza Valley, located in the region of Estella.

The meeting, organized in partnership with the Government of Navarra, will start at 10:45 am in the Socio-cultural Center of Mirafuentes with the interventions of the philologist Mikel Belasko, under the degree scroll "Reading and interpretation of the toponymy of the Berrueza", and the ethnographer David Mariezkurrena, on the "Collection of oral tradition in the valley of the Berrueza".

Then, Pedro Bujanda, expert in popular music and member of group Voces Navarras, will talk about the origins of the Navarrese jota and its roots in this valley. visit The morning will end with a guided visit to the church-fortress of Mirafuentes, and in the afternoon, at 5 p.m., the cycle will close in the Baroque basilica of San Gregorio in Sorlada.     

The workshop is open to all audiences. For those who wish to attend, the organization provides a free bus that will leave from the Hotel Tres Reyes in Pamplona at 9:30 am and will return at 6:00 pm.
