The original book contained a detailed description of the house that Bruno Taut built for his family in Berlin in 1926. It includes detailed plans, abundant photographs and a text by the architect explaining his strategies and the functional characteristics of the spaces.

The time that has passed has allowed that many of Taut's proposals for his house have been assumed later in the design of contemporary housing, and no longer surprise; although there are things that even today are still striking. According to Professor Pozo, "The content that really justifies the reissue of this work, and can make it useful, is the attitude that Taut proposes for the architect's work , in general but especially when he designs a house; a house to "inhabit", a term to which he attributes specific value; and whose meaning is somehow collected with an idea repeated several times: the house must be for the Username something as staff or adjusted to his life as his own shirt".

The Spanish edition of this book, at position of the professor and published by T6 Ediciones, is a tribute to Taut and an attempt to recover his figure, and at the same time a way to make known and useful his teachings and his efforts to give life to a new way of understanding housing, as the seed of a new society.
